JERUSALEM – Troops Israel arrested Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, president of the Supreme Islamic Council and imam of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, after storming his house in Jerusalem on Wednesday (10/3) morning local time.

Anatolia report that arrest. “The Israeli occupation forces surrounded the house and ordered the sheikh to accompany them,” a relative of Sheikh Sabri, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Anatolia.

“The Israeli forces did not explain the reasons for the arrests,” he said.

Israeli forces have stormed the home of 81-year-old Sheikh Sabri several times and removed him from Al-Aqsa under the pretext of “incitement” to his position aimed at preserving Islamic identity at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
