(CNN)– The Lebanese National News Agency said, on Thursday, that an Israeli drone strike targeted a car in the center of the city. Nabatieh In southern Lebanon, it led to the death of at least 3 people.
The agency did not mention the names of those killed in the raid, but the Israeli army told CNN that it carried out a raid targeting “a Hezbollah leader who participated in firing a number of rockets towards the Kiryat Shmona and Metulla regions in northern Israel.”
He added: “In response to the missile launch, an Israeli army plane bombed the commander of the Khiam area in the Radwan forces affiliated with the Hezbollah terrorist organization in southern Lebanon in the Nabatieh area.”
Hezbollah confirmed that it fired missiles at several sites in northern Israel earlier Thursday morning, and added that the raids targeted the Kiryat Shmona area and Israeli military sites in the Shebaa Farms.
There were no immediate reports of Israeli casualties following the Hezbollah missile attacks.
Hezbollah has not yet commented on reports that one of its leaders was killed in the Israeli raid, but late Thursday, it announced that it had fired more missiles, which it said targeted the Israeli army at Meron Air Base, in response to the Israeli attack.
