Israeli Defense Minister Warns Hezbollah of Consequences as Tensions Rise

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said that Hezbollah in Lebanon decided to participate in the war “and will pay a heavy price,” adding: “We must prepare vigilantly for every possibility. I believe that the challenges will be greater.”

The Israeli army announced that Israeli aircraft and soldiers targeted militants who fired rockets and anti-tank shells near the border with Lebanon on Saturday.

A Sky News Arabia correspondent in Lebanon said that Hezbollah targeted the Israeli Ruwaisat Al-Alam site in Shebaa Farms, and military centers in the Israeli Margaliot barracks.

She added that Israeli artillery is bombing the surroundings of the towns of Kafr Shuba, Al-Khuraybah, Al-Mari, Halta, and Wadi Khansa.

The Israeli army confirmed that it carried out a number of strikes during Friday night on several Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, in response to anti-tank missile attacks launched by the party.

According to the IDF, the targets included “a series of military facilities used by the party for operational needs, and a launching pad for anti-tank missiles directed at Israel.”

Hezbollah and allied Palestinian groups in Lebanon have launched daily missile attacks on northern Israel since the outbreak of the latest war between Israel and Hamas on October 7.

Thousands were displaced from villages in southern Lebanon due to clashes on the border with Israel, which also evacuated settlements near areas of tension.
