Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant confirmed that “Israel will return the prisoners from Gaza by force or through negotiations,” explaining that “during this war, the entire Defense Ministry has two missions: defeating Hamas and returning the prisoners.”
Galant stressed that “the timetable for the military operation in the Gaza Strip is unlimited, and will continue at least until all prisoners are released.”
Gallant added: “On October 7, Hamas expected Israel to collapse, but the exact opposite happened. We are looking for any possible way to return our citizens to the homeland. Hamas is looking for a way to stop the IDF. Only military pressure will bring us closer to our goal. The only thing that has begun is… Affecting Hamas is the realization that it is paying a price [أفعالها]. I have known Hamas for decades, only military pressure will help us. “We have no timetable for this war. We will continue until we return the hostages.”
Earlier, CNN reported, citing an informed source, that Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani told his American counterpart, Anthony Blinken, that the prisoner negotiations are in a positive direction, but the situation is changing.
