Israeli Defense Minister Reveals Blueprint for Ruling Gaza Strip After War

“Israel has operational freedom of action… Israeli civilians are excluded.”
“The next stage of the war, a customized battle on the northern line… Elimination of Hamas and rescue of hostages on the southern line” On the 4th (local time), Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant revealed a blueprint for ruling the Palestinian Gaza Strip after the end of the war to eliminate Hamas.

According to Reuters, Secretary Gallant said in a statement that day, “After the war, Hamas will not control the Gaza Strip, and Israel will have operational freedom of action.”

However, Minister Gallant added that there will be no Israeli civilians in the Gaza Strip and that an organization made up of Palestinian residents will be responsible for the Gaza Strip.

He said, “The people of Gaza are Palestinian.

“Therefore, the Palestinian Organization will take responsibility (for the Gaza Strip),” he explained. “However, there is a condition that there are no hostile acts or threats against Israel.”

This means that we will not allow the reoccupation of the Gaza Strip, which the United States and others are concerned about, or the rebuilding of Jewish settlements, as advocated by some far-right politicians.

Secretary Gallant also revealed the outlines of the next stage of the ground war in Gaza.

The key is to focus on customized tactics according to operational needs in the northern region, where the Israeli military controls most of the ground, and to track down Hamas leadership in the southern region.

“In the northern Gaza Strip, we will transition to a new way of fighting in line with the military achievements of the ground war,” he said. “This includes surprise attacks, tunnel destruction, airstrikes and artillery fire, and special forces operations.”

Minister Gallant emphasized, “On the other hand, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, where hundreds of thousands of refugees are concentrated, we will attempt to eliminate the Hamas leadership and rescue hostages,” adding, “We will continue this work until it is deemed necessary.”

On October 7 last year, Hamas infiltrated armed fighters into southern Israel, killed over 1,200 people, took over 240 hostage and took them to the Gaza Strip.

After receiving an unexpected blow, Israel immediately launched a counterattack, and since November, it has been sending ground troops into the Gaza Strip to track and eradicate Hamas.

In this process, over 22,000 people have died and over 50,000 have been injured in the Gaza Strip so far.
