On Tuesday night, Israeli aircraft continued to bomb the vicinity of several hospitals in the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian News Agency quoted medical sources as saying that Israeli aircraft targeted homes in the vicinity of the Indonesian Hospital in the north of the Gaza Strip, others in the vicinity of the Al-Quds Hospital affiliated with the Red Crescent Society in the west of Gaza, the vicinity of the Gaza European Hospital in the south of the Gaza Strip, and the vicinity of the Turkish Friendship Hospital.
According to the sources, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al-Balah in central Gaza is witnessing frequent power outages due to the running out of fuel needed to operate the generators.
The Gaza Strip’s hospitals house thousands of displaced people searching for a safe place, in addition to the medical and health personnel working in them.
The Ministry of Health said that 34 percent of Gaza’s hospitals are not working, and 65 percent of primary health care centers are closed, while 124 Palestinian health personnel were killed, more than 100 were injured, and 50 ambulances were damaged, including 25 that were completely out of service.
Also, 12 out of 35 hospitals were closed, namely the International Eye Hospital, Dar Al Salam Hospital, Al-Yemen Al-Saeed Hospital, Psychiatric Hospital, Beit Hanoun Hospital, Al-Durrah Children’s Hospital, Hamad Rehabilitation Hospital, Al-Karama Hospital, and Al-Wafa Hospital for Medical Rehabilitation and Specialized Surgery.
Also, 46 out of 72 health care centers stopped working as a result of the bombing and the depletion of fuel.
The Ministry of Health pointed to the severe shortage of medicines, equipment, and personnel needed to treat large numbers of wounded, in addition to the sharp decrease in fuel needed to operate electricity, as surgical operations are performed without anesthesia and by the light of telephones.
