On Monday evening, the Israeli army announced an attack on what it described as Hezbollah’s “infrastructure” in the village of Marwahin in southern Lebanon.
On Monday, 14 people were wounded in two Israeli raids on the coastal town of Ghaziyeh in southern Lebanon, according to the official Lebanese agency, while the Israeli army said it bombed Hezbollah “weapons depots.”
The official Lebanese National News Agency reported that the two raids left “14 wounded, most of them Syrian and Palestinian workers.”
A Lebanese security source told Agence France-Presse that one of the two raids targeted an “iron factory” in an industrial area in the town south of Sidon, which is about thirty kilometers in a straight line from the border with Israel.
According to the source, the bombing resulted in the injury of at least eight workers, seven of whom were Syrians, working in the vicinity of the targeted site.
Israeli bombing
The Israeli army announced that its fighters bombed “two weapons storage facilities belonging to Hezbollah.”
He explained that the strikes came “in response to the launch of a drone” into northern Israel, suggesting that it was “launched from Lebanon by the terrorist Hezbollah earlier” on Monday.
There was no comment from Hezbollah, which reported in successive statements that at least three Israeli sites had been targeted on Monday.
In a statement, the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on “all countries wishing to restore stability and calm to southern Lebanon to condemn the ongoing and prolonged Israeli attacks on Lebanon,” calling on “the international community to put pressure on Israel to stop its provocative attempts to expand the circle of war, and to lure Lebanon into a war that it strives to prevent.”

Israel and Hezbollah…continuing diplomatic efforts
Since the day following the unprecedented attack launched by Hamas on Israel on October 7, the border has witnessed an escalation between Hezbollah and Israel.
Hezbollah announces the targeting of Israeli sites, spy devices, and military gatherings in support of Gaza, he said, and the Israeli army responds with air and artillery bombardment, which it says targets the party’s “infrastructure” and the movements of fighters near the border.
Since the start of the escalation, 269 people have been killed in Lebanon, including 188 Hezbollah members and 40 civilians, including three journalists, according to a tally compiled by Agence France-Presse, while the army in Israel counted the deaths of ten soldiers and six civilians.
