Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza was destroyed after receiving an attack from Israel. Israel blamed the attack, which killed hundreds of people at the location, on rockets belonging to the Palestinian military that were mistargeted.
Reporting from AP, Wednesday (18/10/2023), the Palestinian Ministry of Health said at least 500 people were killed. Hundreds of Palestinians are known to have taken refuge at Al-Ahli hospital in the hope of avoiding attacks launched by the Israeli military.
Hamas called the Israeli attack on Al-Ahli hospital a terrible massacre. Hamas emphasized that the attack came from the Israeli military.

The Israeli military is now speaking out regarding the attack which killed hundreds of people. Israel blamed the deadly attack on Al-Ahli hospital on a series of rockets fired by Palestinian military forces.
“Intelligence from various sources at our disposal indicates that Islamic jihad is responsible for the failure of the rocket launch,” the Israeli military said in a statement.
Reported AFP, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denied that his military forces carried out the attack on Al-Ahli hospital. He said the attack was the responsibility of Palestinian military forces.
Netanyahu said the attack came from a ‘barbaric terror’ group. He confirmed that the attack was not from the Israeli Defense Forces or Israeli Military Forces.
Israeli military forces are known to have carried out an attack on Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in the Gaza area. The World Health Organization or WHO strongly condemns the steps taken by Israel.
“WHO strongly condemns the attack on Al Ahli Arab Hospital,” WWHO said as reported AFP.
WHO said the Al Ahli Arab hospital was still operating when the Israeli military attack occurred. According to WHO data, at least hundreds of people died as a result of this deadly attack.
“The hospital is still operational, with patients, health workers and nurses, as well as internally displaced people taking refuge there. Initial reports indicate hundreds of fatalities and injuries,” he said.
