(CNN) – The Israeli army announced, on Saturday, that a number of militants from Gaza had entered Israeli territory, and warned Israelis living near Gaza, asking them to stay in their homes.
The Israeli army spokesman for the Arab media, Avichay Adraee, said in a post on his page on the “The terrorist will pay a heavy price. The public is required to obey the instructions of the home front and remain within the fortified areas, and the residents of the Gaza Strip are required to remain inside their homes.”
The Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas”, which runs the Gaza Strip, said that the Commander-in-Chief of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, Mohammed Al-Deif, will make a statement soon.
The Israeli Magen David Adom services said that a woman in her seventies was injured in the Gderot area of Israel and was in critical condition before her death was later announced as a result of the barrage of rockets fired from Gaza, adding that two other people in the Ashkelon area were slightly injured.
The rockets were fired at around 6:30 a.m. Saturday local time (1130 EST), when most Israelis were likely asleep.
