The Israeli army said that it launched strikes on Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon, in response to attacks targeting northern Israel on Sunday.
The post added: “Another military structure belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organization was targeted in the Kafr Kila area.”
The Israeli army indicated that “during the day, a number of launches were monitored from Lebanese territory towards Israeli territory in the areas of Metulla and Al-Malikiyah.”
A Sky News Arabia correspondent in southern Lebanon reported that an Israeli bombing targeted the outskirts of the towns of Aitaroun, Blida and Kafr Kila, late on Sunday evening.
Clashes have been taking place between Hezbollah and Israel for months in parallel with the Gaza war, and the hostilities represent the worst conflict between the Iranian-backed party and the Hebrew state since the 2006 war, which fuels fears of a larger confrontation.
The Gaza war broke out when Hamas launched an attack on October 7 on Israel, which it said killed 1,200 people and took 253 hostages.
Health authorities in Gaza say that more than 30,000 Palestinians were killed in the Palestinian Strip as a result of the attack launched by Israel in response to Hamas.
