The Israeli army continues to launch a massive military operation since early hours in the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank.
Drones participated in the operation, and sites in the camp were raided by air.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said that the death toll in Jenin rose to 8, in addition to 50 wounded, 10 of whom were in serious condition.
It is believed that the outcome of the operation is greater than that, as ambulances struggle to reach the injured in light of the continuing fighting.
The Jenin Battalion of the Al-Quds Brigades announced that it shot down two Israeli army drones.
It added that its fighters detonated explosive devices – which entered service for the first time – against the Israeli army vehicles, and thwarted the army forces’ attempts to advance inside the camp on more than one axis, according to the battalion.
The Palestinian Presidency considered the Israeli military operation in the city of Jenin and its camp “a new war crime against the defenseless Palestinian people.”
Presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh said that security and stability will not be achieved in the region unless the Palestinian people feel it, who “will not kneel, will not surrender, will not raise the white flag and will remain steadfast in the face of the Israeli army, until the occupation is defeated and freedom is achieved,” as he put it.
