The Israeli army announced, on Monday, the outcome of the expansion of ground operations in the Gaza Strip during Sunday night.
The army said that it “continues to expand ground operations in the Gaza Strip,” confirming the killing of dozens of Hamas militants and the destruction of the movement’s infrastructure and military complexes.
He said that Hamas militants “barricaded themselves inside buildings and tunnels and tried to target the forces,” noting that “a plane targeted a Hamas gathering building in which more than 20 militants were present.”
The Israeli army, which carried out ground incursions into the Gaza Strip during the past days, also confirmed that it had monitored and targeted Hamas militants in the vicinity of Al-Azhar University.
He added: “During the last 24 hours, about 600 targets were struck, including weapons warehouses, hiding and gathering places for Hamas members, and anti-tank missile launch sites.”
