With the escalation of field developments on the northern border, the Israeli army announced, Monday morning, that it plans to evacuate civilians living in 28 residential communities near the border with Lebanon, according to the Times of Israel newspaper.
The announcement comes amid an exchange of rocket and missile attacks on the border, between the Israeli army on the one hand and Hezbollah and its allied Palestinian factions on the other hand, over the course of recent days.
The Israeli army said that it would evacuate residential communities located two kilometers from the Lebanese border.
The National Emergency Management Authority of the Ministry of Defense confirmed that residents will be transferred to state-funded guest houses, after Defense Minister Yoav Galant approved the plan.
The Israeli army says that it informed the heads of local authorities in the region about the implementation of the plan. (Sky News)
