Man charged with espionage blaming Biden’s son
The accused man, a 57-year-old Israeli-American, accuses Hunter Biden of corruption.

A federal prosecutor in New York announced on Monday that he has charged an Israeli-American man with espionage for China who accuses Hunter Biden, the son of the Democratic president, of corruption.
Gal Luft, 57, director of an energy think tank, is accused of “conspiring with others to promote China’s interests as an agent” for Beijing, “without register as a foreign agent as required by U.S. law,” said a statement from the office of Federal Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Damian Williams. Gal Luft is also prosecuted for “arms trafficking”, “violations of sanctions against Iran” and for “false declarations to federal agents”.
Arrested in Cyprus in February 2023, he is now on the run after being released on bail pending extradition, says the Ministry of Justice. He faces up to 20 years in prison on the most serious charges.
A key witness
Gal Luft, who worked as an adviser for the Chinese state-controlled energy company CEFC, has for several years accused Joe Biden’s younger brother, Hunter, of having secretly accepted millions of dollars of this company.
