Local sources noted the leaflets were dropped in Quneitra province and included a warning to the regime not to change its policy towards Hezbollah.
According to the source, Israel threatened the Syrian security forces saying, “Israel has recently paid serious attention to the Syrian regime’s policy of allowing Hezbollah to exist without restrictions in the region.”
Israel added, “Syrian regime forces provided security clearance at the checkpoint for Hezbollah elements that pose a threat to Israel.”
“We call on the Syrian regime to change its policies. We will not tolerate the presence of Hezbollah and terrorists roaming the area,” the Israeli flyer said.
Hezbollah members are stationed in the Daraa and Quneitra areas on the border with Israel and along the Israeli-occupied Syrian Golan.
Israel has repeatedly targeted Hezbollah locations and the group’s Iran-affiliated sites across Syria.
Israeli airstrikes violate Syrian sovereignty. The Syrian regime continues to protest Israeli military attacks on its territory.
