Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Fighter jets Israel attacked the house of a political leader of a militia group Hamas Palestine, Ismail Haniyeh, on Wednesday (15/11) night.
“Yesterday, fighter jets [tentara Israel] “attacked the residence of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh, which is used as terrorist infrastructure and is a frequent meeting point for senior Hamas leaders to direct terror attacks against Israeli civilians,” the Israeli statement said, quoted Al Arabiya.
He added, “During the takeover of the Al-Shati camp, Israeli forces discovered and destroyed a Hamas naval arsenal containing diving equipment, explosive devices and weapons.”
Israel also said its forces “struck terrorists” and recovered weapons including explosive belts, explosive barrels, anti-tank missiles, communications equipment and intelligence documents.
Hamas has so far not commented on Israel’s claims.
The attack on Haniyeh’s house was carried out on the same night when Israeli forces also stormed the Al Shifa hospital in Gaza.
Local sources said Israeli bulldozers and tanks stormed the Al Shifa hospital complex from the west entrance, while Israeli tanks have surrounded the hospital complex with tanks for the past week.
This raid was carried out after Israel and the United States accused Hamas of using the Al Shifa medical facility as a Hamas command and operational center.
Hamas has firmly denied that it has a headquarters at Al Shifa Hospital. Hamas said the US statement was a “green light” for Israel to massacre civilians.
The Palestinian militia group even asked the United Nations (UN) to form an international committee to inspect all hospitals in the Gaza Strip, including Al Shifa Hospital, to prove Israel’s claims.
