Israeli air strikes continue, Iranian general: Palestine is not alone!

TEHERAN – Head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Iran (IRGC) says Palestine “not alone” in their struggle against Israel as Gaza faces its second day of Israeli air strikes.

“Today, all anti-Zionist jihadist capabilities are on the scene in a united formation working to liberate Jerusalem and uphold the rights of the Palestinian people,” Major General Hossein Salami said in a statement on the IRGC’s website, Sepah News.

“We are with you on this path to the end, and let the Palestinians and Palestinians know that they are not alone,” he told the delegation leader of the Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad, Ziad al-Nakhala, during a meeting in Tehran. Al ArabySunday (7/8/2022).

Salami stressed that the Palestinian response showed a “new chapter” had begun and Israel would pay another heavy price for its recent crimes.

“Palestinian resistance is stronger today than in the past,” he said, adding that militant groups had found the ability to manage major wars.

Iran is a major backer of Islamic Jihad and Nakhala has met Raisi and other officials during his visit.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry also condemned Israel’s aggression on Gaza, calling it “brutal”.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, according to a statement from his office, said Israel had once again demonstrated its occupying and aggressive nature to the world.
