Representative of the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossaddrawn from the negotiation process discussing the continuation of the ceasefire in Gaza StripPalestine, because they felt stuck.

Apart from Israel, the negotiations were also attended by Qatar as mediator along with Egypt and the United States.

“Following the deadlock in negotiations and at the direction of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Mossad Chief David Barnea ordered his team in Doha to return to Israel,” Netanyahu’s office said in a statement, as reported Al JazeeraSaturday (2/12).

The focus of mediation in Doha, Qatar, this time discussed the potential for freeing new categories of Israeli hostages other than women and children.

Israel accused the Hamas group of not fulfilling the agreement to extend the ceasefire in Gaza. Including, freeing all women and children hostages on Israel’s list.

However, Hamas said there would be no prisoner exchange with Israel until the war ends. If Israel wants its hostages released, Hamas said, then Palestinian prisoners must also be released.

“Our official stance is that there will be no further prisoner exchanges until the war is over,” Hamas Deputy Chairman Saleh Al-Arouri told Al Jazeera.

“Israeli prisoners will not be released until our prisoners are released and after a ceasefire is in place,” he continued.

Hamas also claims to have freed all the women and children hostages during the week-long ceasefire.

“All that remains of Israeli prisoners are soldiers and civilians serving in the military,” stressed Saleh Al-Arouri.

Apart from that, Hamas also said its group was willing to return Israeli bodies in exchange for the return of Palestinian bodies.

“(Hamas is ready to exchange) the bodies of dead Israelis in exchange for our own martyrs. But, we need time to exhume these bodies,” said Al-Arouri.

The ceasefire in Gaza ended on Friday (1/12) after there was no renewal of the agreement between Israel and Hamas.

Israel and the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, agreed to a ceasefire on November 24 which was extended twice.

After the ceasefire ended, so far more than 180 Palestinians have been reported killed and hundreds more injured. Meanwhile, the total number of casualties after the Israeli aggression began on October 7 reached more than 15,000, dominated by women and children.
