Israeli Army Chief of Staff General Herzi Halevi announced that Iranian attack ‘will be met with response’.
“Iran wanted to harm the strategic capabilities of the state of Israel. This is something that hasn’t happened before” – admitted Herzi Halevi, quoted by The Times of Israel.
He emphasized that Israel was prepared for Operation Iron Shield. This gave him air superiority.

“The State of Israel is very strong and knows how to deal with this on its own, but with such a numerous and distant threat, we are always glad that the United States is with us,” he emphasized.
He added that Israel is looking to the future and considering further steps. However, he did not reveal the details.
The Jerusalem Post notes that Halevi’s statement came during a visit to the Nevatim air base in southern Israel, which was reportedly partially damaged by the Iranian attack. According to assurances It will take several days to regain full operational efficiency.

Herzi Halevi assured that pilots at the base are ready for any mission against Iran or other adversariesthat he and the government will assign to them.
