The IDF spokesperson’s statement comes after Iran launched a missile attack against Israeli territory on Tuesday afternoon.
“Recently, missiles have been launched from Iran towards the State of Israel. “They are asked to remain alert and precisely follow the instructions of the Home Front Command,” the Israeli Army said in a statement.
Alarms were activated throughout the country and the Army map showed all Israeli territory with red warning signs.
In Jerusalem, in addition to the sound of alarms, missiles could also be seen intercepted in the sky and the noise they made when they exploded.
The Israeli Armed Forces sent messages to mobile phones in certain areas warning the population and asked all people to seek shelter immediately and to remain there until further instructions.
Almost an hour later, the Israeli Army informed citizens that they can now leave the shelters.
“After completing the assessment of the situation, it was decided that it is now possible to leave protected areas in all areas of the country,” said Hagari.
The Army also reported that its air defense system was fully operational to detect and intercept any threat, although it warned that a missile could hit the ground.
“However, the defense is not airtight and therefore it is essential to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command. It is possible that you hear explosions, which could be the result of interceptions or impacts,” says a military statement.
This is Iran’s first attack against Israel since April, when Iran attacked two Israeli air bases in the Negev with missiles and drones and hit points in the occupied territory of the Golan Heights, although Israel, the United States or Arab countries over which they flew They managed to intercept most of the Iranian projectiles.
