Israel: War without rules by Netanyahu –

Tel Aviv is shaping a Middle East of imbalance, fear and more vindictive retaliation with the tolerance of Washington and away from international legitimacy

With Israel leading the Middle East at gunpoint into an open regional conflict with Iran as the ultimate target, it is now apparent that Benjamin Netanyahu not only does not care to even try to convince himself that he is acting within international legality, but makes it clear that the Israel is already above and beyond any control, compromise or cooperation with the US, EU, UN or its neighbors.

The assassination of Yahya Sinwar may not have been planned, but it, as well as the results so far from the initiatives and actions of the Israeli leadership and the army, are changing the balance in the Middle East with frightening speed – within a year.

Israel’s successes

The Israeli successes against Hamas and Hezbollah, with the assassinations of their leaders, do weaken the operation of Iran’s satellite organizations in Gaza and Lebanon, but at the same time they create a void that no one knows how to fill, given that the mass slaughters of civilians by Israeli troops will push the other side into more radical “solutions”. Perhaps this is also the assessment they are making in Washington – without considering Israel’s position – and they are asking for the truce discussion to start again.

Tehran is strengthening the militias

Iran, as it awaits the strike by Israel, which Netanyahu has made clear he will proceed with – playing the well-known game with the US and the Biden administration of “yes, but” regarding American red lines – appears to be strengthening the organizations it controls in Iraq and Syria. According to reports, Shiite militias in the two countries have not only thickened their ranks, but are gradually increasing their attacks on Israeli targets both in intensity and in number.

Along with the above, in Israel the preparation of the blow against Iran – it has announced it in response to the ballistic missile attack that was in retaliation for the murders of Ismail Haniya of Hamas and Hassan Nasrallah of Hezbollah – is the best proof of how the Netanyahu’s government drags the USA of J. Biden.

Anti-missile shield from the USA

Iran’s attack exposed gaps in Israel’s air defenses and anti-missile shield, so the US decided to send the advanced THAAD anti-missile system and 100 US soldiers to operate it. At the same time, the US used Stealth B2 bombers to hit Houthi targets in Yemen, one of the fronts in which the Israelis themselves have not been particularly involved at the moment.

These moves to support Israel came from the US government, which at the same time exerted pressure – the special US envoy for humanitarian affairs in the Middle East, of course, made it clear that this is all for show after emphasizing that the rules do not apply to Israel – to improve humanitarian conditions in Gaza, otherwise an arms embargo could be imposed.

In addition, the US has tried to pressure Israel not to hit nuclear and oil targets in Iran when it strikes.

What did the Netanyahu government respond to all this? He lied, according to reports from Gaza, about letting 50 aid trucks through the enclave and made it clear that nothing had been agreed on which targets would be hit. He continued to strike UNIFIL positions in Lebanon, prompting calls for an arms embargo from European countries, and announced that the attack on Iran would take place before the US election.
