Israel Shoots Dead Six Residents in Refugee Camp – Latest News from Palestine and West Bank

The team Israel shot dead six residents Palestine in a raid on a refugee camp in the north West Bank occupied by Israel. The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced their deaths on Friday (8/12).

The ministry did not identify the six Palestinians, but said they were killed “by bullets from the (Israeli) occupation in the Al-Fara refugee camp” near Tubas.

The Israeli military did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

“Clashes escalated with (Israeli) troops storming the camp amid heavy gunfire and explosions,” the official Palestinian news agency, Wafa, said as reported AFPFriday (8/12/2023).

Violence in the region has flared since the outbreak of war between Israel and the Hamas group in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier on Wednesday (6/12), the Palestinian Ministry of Health said four Palestinians, two of them teenagers, were killed in various Israeli operations around the West Bank, which has been occupied by Israel since 1967.

The Palestinian Authority says Israeli fire and attacks by settlers in the West Bank have killed at least 263 Palestinians since the Israel-Hamas war began.

This number exceeds the death toll of 235 people, most of them Palestinians, who died in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict last year.

The Hamas group that controls Gaza launched an unprecedented, massive offensive in southern Israel on October 7, killing around 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and taking around 240 hostages, Israeli officials said.

In response, Israel launched airstrikes and ground attacks on Gaza which has killed nearly 17,200 people, mostly women and children, according to Hamas authorities there.
