Israel sends additional troops to Lebanon to fight Hezbollah

Military Israel they announced that additional troops would be deployed in ground operations in the area Lebanon south end. Tel Aviv military operations near the border are said to target the group Hizbullah.

Israel’s military in their latest statement, as reported AFP and Al ArabiyaOn Monday (7/10/2024), they announced the deployment of another division in military operations in Lebanon. This means that three divisions of soldiers have been used by the Israeli military in the battle against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon so far.

“Soldiers from the 91st Division have begun to operate locally and focus on operational activities in the southern Lebanon region,” the Israeli military said in a statement Monday (7/10) local time.

The number of additional troops that Tel Aviv sent to Lebanon was no longer disclosed. The total number of Israeli troops operating against Hezbollah inside Lebanon is also not clearly known.

As the Israeli military announced the deployment of additional troops, the Hezbollah group issued a statement on Monday (7/10) saying its forces had targeted Tel Aviv soldiers in border towns there southern Lebanon.

“(Hezbollah fighters) attacked a gathering of Israeli soldiers in the Maroun al-Ras park with a volley of rockets,” Hezbollah said in a statement.

On the same day, Hezbollah separately also announced that it had targeted several areas in northern Israel and Tel Aviv military positions across the border.
