Adult stem cells deliver treatment directly inside the tumor
A team of researchers from the Technion Institute of Technology in Israel has perfected an immunotherapy treatment using just one millionth of a dose to treat cancerous tumors.
According to the advanced technique, adult stem cells are able to deliver the treatment directly inside the tumor, making it much more effective.
“The technology that we have developed could radically change the way certain immunotherapies act on tumors” explained Professor Marcelle Machluf to the Times of Israel.
The results of Prof. Machluf and his doctoral student Lior Levy, have just been published in the scientific journal Advanced Functional Materials, after having been recognized and approved by other international research teams.
“Our latest findings will also increase the effectiveness of other immunotherapy treatments” added Prof. Machluf.
The research of Prof. Machluf, Dean of the Technion Biotechnology Faculty, were not funded by any pharmaceutical company, and were conducted entirely independently.
