Atlanta, United States (CNN) – The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled all Israeli diplomatic personnel from Turkey after Turkish criticism of the current Israeli military operations in Gaza.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said on Saturday that Israeli-Turkish relations will be reevaluated.
“Given the dangerous statements coming from Turkey, I have ordered the return of diplomatic representatives there in order to conduct a reassessment of relations between Israel and Turkey,” Cohen wrote.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday that the attacks on Gaza had “long gone beyond self-defense,” adding, “It is now oppression, atrocity, massacre and barbarism.”
