“We are moving from a state of defeat of the enemy to a state of destruction by blowing up tunnels, ammunition depots, dismantling Hezbollah,” Israel’s defense minister said, “indicating” a strike against Iran, during a routine briefing on the situation on the northern border, according to with the Jerusalem Post.
“We are getting closer and closer to completing the mission, although there is still a lot to be done,” he noted.
“The IDF (Israeli Armed Forces) are preparing for further moves, but first and foremost they are getting this operation right,” the defense minister added.
It is noted that the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, convenes the security cabinet today, in the context of the preparation of the imminent attack on Iran.
The meeting is scheduled for 7:30 pm (local time) at Kirya’s military headquarters in Tel Aviv, according to The Times of Israel citing information from a minister’s office. According to the report, Israel is preparing to strike Iran in response to the October 1 ballistic missile attack.

The Lebanese Islamist group Hezbollah announced today that it launched a “significant barrage of rockets” against a military base near the northern Israeli city of Safed.
Hezbollah fighters fired a “significant volley of rockets” at this base east of Safed, “in response to the Israeli enemy’s attacks on villages and homes” in Lebanon, the pro-Iranian group said.
Various sources speak of the launch of approximately 200 rockets by Hezbollah fighters.

Lebanese authorities also announced that three soldiers were killed when Israeli shelling targeted the vehicle they were traveling in.
