Israel deports only those Ukrainians who came to work illegally in the country, the ambassador assured.
Israel denied entry to some 2,500 of Ukraine’s 47,000 citizens, the vast majority of those who came to work illegally. This was stated by Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Michael Brodsky in Telegram.
“According to the Department of Population and Migration of the Israeli Ministry of Internal Affairs, since the beginning of the year, 5.4% (about 2,500 people) of the 47,000 Ukrainian citizens who arrived in Israel in 2023 have been denied entry. In the overwhelming majority of cases, we are talking about those who came to work illegally in Israel,” he wrote.
Recall that earlier the Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk said that Ukraine intends to end the visa-free regime with Israel if the deportation of Ukrainians from Israel does not stop. The Ukrainian embassy warned the Israeli government that the Hasidim might not be allowed into Uman.
According to media reports, many Ukrainians arriving in Israel are sent back to Ukraine. According to the ambassador, at present every tenth Ukrainian is not allowed into Israel.
