Israel Prepares Ground Attack on Gaza to Eliminate Hamas

In light of the rising escalation in Gaza, the world is cautiously awaiting the possibility of Israel taking a step that might open the door to entering the Strip by land following the attack launched by Hamas on October 7.

According to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”, the ground attack will begin with the entry of the powerful Caterpillar D9R bulldozers, nicknamed “Dobby”, which means the Israeli “teddy bear,” into Gaza, followed by waves of “Merkava” tanks.

Caterpillar D9R bulldozers are designed to tear down fences and overcome the maze of narrow streets, extensive tunnel networks, booby traps and sniper positions that await Israeli forces if they enter Gaza by ground.

Most of them are civilian bulldozers modified by adding vehicle armor.

Once the “teddy bear” forces its way into Gaza, Merkava combat tanks will enter behind it, followed later by army forces to achieve Israel’s stated goal of the attack, which is “to completely eliminate Hamas.”

Israeli Army Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy said on Saturday to the leaders of the Golani Brigade, “We will enter the Gaza Strip. We will engage in an operational mission with the aim of eliminating elements affiliated with Hamas. We will also remember in our minds the images and scenes of those who fell two weeks ago.”

Halevy added: “Gaza is complex, Gaza is crowded, the enemy is preparing many things there, but we are also preparing for him. We are accompanied in the ground maneuver by all the capabilities of the IDF, so be bold in this thinking. Be very determined, and convey a feeling of extreme confidence to your soldiers. This spirit will achieve victory. Your professionalism The result will be determined. I am very confident in you, I am very proud of you, this is pride and this is strength and with this strength you will prevail.”
