One dead and 32 injured – six seriously – is the toll of the attack in Israel, when a truck crashed into a bus stop near the Gillot junction this morning (27/10) according to the Times of Israel.
Police said investigations were underway to determine whether it was a terrorist attack, with Israeli media describing it as such. The truck driver was neutralized by armed civilians.
Hamas hailed in a statement a “heroic operation” carried out near “Mossad headquarters”. “It is a natural response to the crimes of the (Israeli) occupation against our Palestinian people in Gaza, the West Bank, Jerusalem,” he said.
In Israel at least 30 people, including soldiers, have been killed in Palestinian attacks, according to Israeli figures.
In the West Bank, occupied since 1967, 744 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli soldiers or Jewish settlers, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry, and at least 24 Israelis have been killed in Palestinian attacks or during Israeli military operations, according to Israeli figures.
Israel is holding ceremonies today on the first anniversary of the attack on October 7, 2023, according to the Jewish calendar.
