Sirens sounded in Israel as Hezbollah launched another rocket attack. There had been an alert for suspected drone infiltration in several areas, including Kiryat Shmona, as reported by the Times of Israel.
Shortly after the sirens went off, the IDF declared the incident over.
An IDF officer and a soldier were wounded by rockets fired by Hezbollah in an area near Ayelet HaShahar in northern Israel and taken to hospital. A fire broke out in the area where the rockets fell.
Blinken: Possible an attack within 24-48 hours
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken told his G7 counterparts that Washington believes an Iranian attack on Israel could begin within the next 24 to 48 hours, Axios reports.
According to the publication, Blinken spoke with his counterparts amid US efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region and prevent the outbreak of an all-out war.
With the U.S. believing an Iranian attack is inevitable after the assassination of top Hezbollah and Hamas officials last week, Blinken told officials that pressuring Tehran to curb its offensive is the best way to avoid regional war.
Blinken said the US does not know the exact timing of the planned Iranian attack, Axios adds, but believes it could begin as early as Monday.
