Israel reportedly started building roads and building infrastructure on the side The Philadelphia Corridorthe border area separating Egypt and the Palestinian Gaza Strip.

Israel’s military action to build infrastructure on the border comes at a time when Israel continues to bombard the Gaza Strip, approaching a year of military aggression.

Israel’s attack on Gaza entered one year on October 7, after it was launched on October 7, 2023 following an attack by the Hamas militia group on Israel.

For Israel, the Philadelphia corridor must be protected by Zionist military forces to ensure that there is no movement of Hamas in the area.

This was expressed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the terms of the truce with Hamas that he proposed recently. Hamas rejected those terms to end fire talks.

The Philadelphia Corridor stretches from the Mediterranean coast to the border of Karam Abu Salem or Kerem Shalom.

This border area is the place to access humanitarian aid, which is often blocked by Zionist attacks in areas near the border, including the Rafah border.

According to a report from the BBC, satellite images showed last month that Israel had begun to open a new road that runs along the corridor. Several pictures show that Zionist construction vehicles have started repairing the road.

Currently, the Karam Abu Salem border crossing only operates one or two days a week. Only 15 to 50 aid trucks are allowed into the Gaza Strip by Israel.

Humanitarian organizations have repeatedly warned that this amount is not enough to meet the needs of the entire population of Gaza.

Last week, Israeli soldiers even asked 35 aid trucks to return to Egypt without first allowing the trucks to unload the cargo they were carrying.

Operations in the Philadelphi Corridor as well as Rafah are currently governed by two bilateral agreements between Egypt and Israel.

Israel’s aggression in the Gaza Strip has so far killed 41,870 people and injured 97,166 people. Millions of Gazans are currently in a severe humanitarian crisis due to the brutal Zionist invasion.
