Part of the body’s finger was cut off and sent for DNA samples, as traps were suspected in the area. His identity was later confirmed, and after the perimeter was secured, the body was transported to Israel. On Thursday, a senior Hamas official confirmed that Yahya Sinwar had died.
US President Joe Biden called the death of the Hamas leader a moment of relief for Israelis and an opportunity for a “fresh start” in the Gaza Strip, without the ruling group there. Biden said that
