Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) Israel, Israel Katzthank you United States of America (US) to authorize military aid worth US$ 13 billion or the equivalent of Rp. Katz said the agreement for military aid sent a “strong message” to Israel’s enemies.
As reported AFP, Wednesday (24/4/2024), Katz’s thanks came shortly after the US Congress, both the DPR and the Senate, gave final approval to the military aid package for Israel. Permission was granted by the US while the war was still going on Gaza Strip which claimed many lives.
“I thank the US Senate for passing the Israel aid package tonight with a bipartisan majority,” Katz wrote in a statement via social media X.
“The Israel aid package that has now been approved by both houses of Congress is a clear demonstration of the strength of our alliance and sends a strong message to all our enemies,” he said.
In her statement, Katz also thanked US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of the Democratic Party and US Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of the Republican Party.
“For your strong commitment to Israel’s security. The Israel-US strategic partnership is incredible,” he said.
The approval of the US Congress for this Israeli military aid package came as the war in the Gaza Strip entered its 201st day since it began last October.
