Sirens echoed across the area Israel after one rocket was fired from Lebanon towards the Zionist Country on Thursday (6/4).

The Israeli army said the sirens were heard in the towns of Shlomi and Moshav Betzet which are located in the north of the country.

However, the Israeli army confirmed that its troops managed to intercept the rocket.

“A rocket was fired from Lebanon towards Israeli territory and was successfully intercepted,” the Israeli army statement said AFP.

Until now, it is not known who was behind the rocket shooting.

But earlier, the Lebanese militia, Hezbollah, expressed solidarity with Palestine after Israeli troops attacked the Al Aqsa Mosque when a number of Muslims were praying last Wednesday.

“Hezbollah condemns the attack of the Israeli occupation forces on the Al Aqsa Mosque complex and their attack on the faithful,” said Hezbollah’s statement.

“Hezbollah expresses its full solidarity with the Palestinian people and their resistance groups, and pledges to support them in all measures taken to protect the congregation and Al Aqsa Mosque, and prevent the enemy from continuing attacks.”

This statement was released shortly after the ruling group of the Gaza Strip which is close to Hezbollah, Hamas, fired several rockets into Israel as a sign of protest.

In addition, Hezbollah is also closely linked to another militia in the Gaza Strip, the Islamic Jihad. The group also frequently launches attacks on Israel.

Israel and Hezbollah were involved in major clashes in 2006. As a result of the fighting, more than 1,200 people in Lebanon were killed, while 160 others also died in Israel.
