Details: The Israeli military issued an evacuation warning to residents of several houses in the Burj El Barain suburb in southern Beirut.
Notice:
Residents were warned that they were “located near Hezbollah bases and interests” that would soon be attacked by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
An IDF spokesman in Arabic told civilians to “evacuate immediately” and stay at least 500 meters away.
Burj al-Barajneh is a densely populated area that includes a Palestinian refugee camp and is home to many poor migrants.
A CNN crew heard several explosions in Beirut around midnight local time.
Reuters pictures showed a huge fireball followed by a huge column of smoke rising above Beirut’s southern suburbs.

The Times of Israel reports that the target of the Israeli airstrike on Beirut was Hezbollah executive council chairman Hashem Safiddin. He is considered the successor of Hassan Nasrallah after his assassination.
