Israel-Hezbollah Conflict Escalates: US Officials Fear Ground Incursion, Emergency Worker Killed by Missile Strike

CNN’s Paula Hancock reports on the growing hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah and fears it could turn into a larger conflict. Israel’s emergency rescue service said at least one foreign worker was killed and seven others wounded Monday, when a missile struck northern Israel near Lebanese border.

This comes at a time when one of the US President’s senior advisors arrived in Lebanon again on Monday, to work on finding a diplomatic solution to the ongoing hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah.

US administration and intelligence officials told CNN they are concerned that Israel may be planning a ground incursion into Lebanon in the late spring or early summer.

While the Israeli Defense Minister warned that even if there was a temporary ceasefire in Gaza, it would continue, and perhaps increase, its attacks against Hezbollah.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah said that its missiles will stop as soon as the ceasefire takes effect in Gaza.
