He specified that the ongoing attacks in the coastal enclave from October 7 of last year to May 7 caused the death of 14,873 minors, 9,801 women and 141 journalists.

The census estimated the number of homes that were completely destroyed at 86,000, to which another 294,000 were partially affected, he noted.

Meanwhile, in the occupied West Bank there are 483 Israeli settlements, outposts, industrial sites and military bases, the PCBS criticized.

Regarding the number of settlers in that territory, it exceeded 745,460 at the end of 2022, of which 336,272 live in East Jerusalem, which the international community considers the capital of the future Palestinian State.

The average ratio between settlers and Palestinians in the West Bank is 23 per 100, although in the so-called holy city the figure is 63 per 100.

The organization warned that last year the Israeli Government expropriated more than 50 thousand dunums (about 50 square kilometers) of Palestinian land in the West Bank, an amount that represents double what was recorded in 2022.
