240 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip since a temporary ceasefire expired, the Hamas-controlled Gaza Ministry of Health said. The battle was halted for a week until Friday at 6 a.m. local time. Israel’s military says it has since attacked more than 400 targets in the Gaza Strip.
In addition, according to the ministry, approximately 650 residents were injured. The attacks are taking place “all over the Gaza Strip”. The Israeli forces would mainly focus on Khan Younis, a city in the south of the densely populated coastal area.
The war that broke out on October 7 following the Hamas terrorist attack has cost the lives of around 15,000 Gazans, according to authorities in Gaza, where Hamas rules.
The ceasefire between Hamas and Israel lasted four days according to the original agreements, but was first extended by two days and then at the very last minute by one day. During this combat-free period, Hamas released hostages in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners held in Israel.
