Israel Frees Hamas Chief Hours After Arrest

WEST BANK – The Israeli authorities launched Aziz Dweik, spokesman for the Palestinian Legislative Council and senior chief of Hamas, on Thursday evening (20/6/2024).

Anadolu Company reported that this information got here hours after his arrest, citing household sources.

On Wednesday, Israeli forces arrested Dweik after raiding his house within the El-Gamaha neighborhood of Hebron, situated within the southern West Financial institution.

Palestinian media reported that Israeli forces used stun grenades and tear gasoline extensively through the assault on 75-year-old Dweik’s residence.

Dweik was launched lower than per week after eight months of administrative detention.

In an announcement, Hamas condemned Dweik’s re-arrest, calling it “brutal and retaliatory”.
