The Israeli military announced on the 8th local time that it had struck a number of targets in Lebanon with fighter jets.
This included a location where members of the Lebanese armed faction Hezbollah were operating, which resulted in the death of a high-ranking commander of an elite unit, Reuters reported.
Previously, on the 2nd, a Hamas office outside the Lebanese capital was struck by a drone, killing the deputy head of the Hamas political bureau, and the level of armed conflict between the two sides is increasing.
So far, about 180 people have lost their lives in Lebanon, and Israel has also suffered the loss of 9 soldiers and 4 civilians.
Israel’s prime minister and defense minister said in a statement that “the war in the south and north will continue for months to come and will not end anytime soon.”
Following the Gaza Strip in the south, where war is ongoing with Hamas, they are also willing to go to war with Hezbollah in the north.

“We have shown Hezbollah, through their friend Hamas, an example of what will happen. The same thing will happen here soon.″
Hezbollah is also leaving open the possibility of an all-out war with Israel, so the conflict is more heightened than ever.
Because of this, concerns are growing that an all-out war between Hezbollah and Israel will break out like in 2006.
U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken, who is touring the Middle East, expressed his position that “escalating the war is not in the interest of Israel, Lebanon, or Hezbollah.”
