Israel: Double hit on Hezbollah – 3 officials dead –

Israel announced that the Air Force (IAF) today attacked the headquarters of Hezbollah‘s intelligence services and an underground weapons production laboratory in Beirut.

According to the Lebanese news agency ANI, the districts of Haret Hreik and Hadat Beirut, strongholds of the pro-Iranian Islamist Lebanese movement that is at open war with Israel, were hit.

The Israeli military also announced it had “eliminated” three Hezbollah officials in southern Lebanon.

“Fighter planes hit the city of Nabataiah seven times”

ANI reported that the Israeli army carried out overnight strikes on dozens of villages and towns in southern Lebanon, mainly targeting the town of Nabatiya for the third time this week.

“Fighter planes hit the city of Nabatiya seven times,” the agency reported, adding that Israeli planes “struck” more than 50 towns and villages and cited casualties.

For its part, the Iranian delegation to the UN implies that this is a project of Tehran carried out by Hezbollah, stating that: “We have already responded to the Israeli regime and the attack in question was carried out by Hezbollah in Lebanon.”

Investigation into the leak of classified US documents

At the same time, Washington is investigating the leak of classified documents from the American Pentagon dated October 15 and 16 concerning Israel’s plan to attack Iran.

CNN reporter Natasha Bertrand reports: “One of the documents coming from the National Intelligence Service mentions the transfer of ammunition from Israel in preparation for a possible strike on Iran. Another document, originating from the national security services, analyzes the preparation of the Israeli air force and the exercises for a strike.

“Hezbollah, an ally of Iran, who tried to assassinate me and my wife, committed a grave mistake,” Mr Netanyahu said in a statement. “I say to the Iranians and their allies in the axis of evil: anyone who tries to harm the citizens of Israel will pay a heavy price,” he added.

His accusations heighten concern about further military escalation in the Middle East, as Israel threatens to retaliate with an attack of some 200 missiles on October 1 by arch-enemy Iran, as it continues its war against both Hamas in the Strip of Gaza as well as against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Despite the blows he managed to the two Islamist movements, killing their leaders, the two factions, characterized as allies of Tehran, vow to continue their fight against Israel.

All this in the wake of the killing of the leader of Hamas, Yahya Shinwar.

The video shows Sinwar, his wife and two boys walking into the tunnel where the Hamas leader appears to have stored supplies ahead of the unprecedented attack on Israeli soil.

It is recalled that yesterday Israel released another video recording the impact of the Israeli tank on the residence, where he had taken refuge shortly before it was destroyed.
