Israel Destroys Muslim Cemetery Near Al-Aqsa Masjid Mosque

JERUSALEM – Managed Jerusalem City Authority Israel , on Sunday (10/10) demolished a Muslim cemetery near the Al-Aqsa Mosque, east Jerusalem. Several graves in the Al-Yusufiye Cemetery near the Al-Aqsa Mosque were destroyed by heavy vehicles belonging to the Jerusalem city authority.

After Palestinians gathered because there were reports of bones being found in the cemetery during the demolition operation, Israeli heavy vehicles left the scene.

“The Israeli courts have given permission to the Israel Archeology Directorate to work in a location close to the graves,” Ahmed al-Dajani, executive director of the Commission for the Protection of Muslim Graves, told Anadolu Agency.

He said among the tombs destroyed were Muslims who were martyred in the conflict between 1948 and 1967.

According to him, Israel will face legal action in response to the actions of the city government.

The area is an integral part of the cemetery. “The city of Jerusalem in the Israeli government has planned to build a park near the Al-Yusufiye Cemetery,” he said.
