Israel continues to carry out ground and air attacks on the Gaza Strip controlled by the Palestinian militant group Hamas. Gaza officials late last month accused the Israeli army of shooting at Gaza residents collecting food supplies, killing more than 100 people. Hamas launched a raid in southern Israel on October 7 last year, killing 1,200 people and kidnapping about 253 others. Israel subsequently launched large-scale retaliatory attacks on the Gaza Strip, killing more than 31,000 people so far, 70% of whom were women and children.
