The Israeli Army confirmed that it killed Hashem Safieddine, the cleric who was emerging as Hassan Nasrallah‘s successor as head of the Hezbollah group.

The Defense Forces (IDF) claimed that Safieddine was eliminated in an airstrike on Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, earlier this month. There was no immediate confirmation of the terrorist group.

“We can confirm that the head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council, Hashem Safieddine, and the head of Hezbollah’s Intelligence Directorate, Ali Hussein Hazima, were killed along with other Hezbollah commanders in a bombing attack about three weeks ago,” the army said. Israeli in a statement.
