Israel condemns Raisi’s election as Iran president | als Abroad

JERUSALEM – Israel has nothing good to say about the decision of the Iranians to elect Ebrahim Raisi as its new president. The State Department portrayed Hassan Rouhani’s successor on Saturday as the most extreme president to date and someone who wants to move forward with Tehran’s nuclear program as quickly as possible. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the cleric who holds real power in Iran, also got a sneer.
