The prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahuassured this Tuesday that Israeli forces have killed Hashem Safi al-Dinthe supposed successor of Hasan Nasrallah in command of the Shiite group Hezbollahas well as the possible replacement of the latter, during its bombing campaign in Lebanon.
«We damaged Hezbollah’s capabilities. “We have eliminated thousands of terrorists, including Nasrallah himself, Nasrallah’s successor and the successor of Nasrallah’s successor.”the Israeli president said in a statement.
In statements that directly appealed to the Lebanese to “free the country from Hezbollah,” Netanyahu threatened the Lebanese population with “a long war that will bring destruction and suffering similar to what we see in Gaza.” EFE (I)
