Israel Builds 17,000 Jewish Homes in Jerusalem, Excludes Palestine

TEL AVIV – Office Palestine said Israeli authorities were working on building more than 17,000 new Jewish housing units in different parts of Jerusalem. The news was reported by Anadolu News Agency.

In a statement on Thursday (11/25/2021), Palestinian Jerusalem Affairs Minister Fadi Al-Hadmi described the Israeli settlement plan as a “crazy tsunami.”

He said accelerating settlement construction through a series of projects eliminates “the possibility of a two-state solution.”

“The Israeli government is progressing towards implementing a series of major settlement projects in the north, south and east of the city, with the aim of isolating or completely isolating it from Palestinian neighborhoods in the West Bank,” Al-Hadmi said.

The Palestinian minister said the project included plans to build 10,000 housing units on the grounds of Jerusalem International Airport, in Qalandia, north of the city.

“The Israeli authorities also plan to build 3,500 houses in the E1 area of ​​east Jerusalem, 1,250 houses in the Givat Hamatos settlement, 2,000 houses in the French Hill settlement and 470 houses in the Pisgat Zeev settlement,” he said.

“Since the beginning of this year, more than 140 buildings have been demolished in Jerusalem,” Al-Hadmi said.

He urged the international community, “Turn his words into action, and work to stop settlements, annexation, demolition, displacement and forced evictions of people, and save the two-state solution before it’s too late.”
