Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Israel reportedly began launching airstrikes on the border Lebanon to kill four Hezbollah members on Monday (9/10).
This attack occurred when Israel and the group Hamas Palestine has been involved in war again in the Gaza Strip since last weekend.
Apart from Hamas and the Palestinian militant group in the Palestinian Gaza Strip, the Hezbollah group in Lebanon is also Israel’s sworn enemy.
In a statement, Hezbollah said that four of its members were killed as a result of Israeli air strikes in southern Lebanon.
Hezbollah reportedly immediately launched a retaliatory attack by firing a barrage of rockets into northern Israel, two security sources told Reuters.
The Hezbollah attack reportedly targeted military facilities on the Israeli border. Previously, Hezbollah had denied involvement in the latest war between Israel and Hamas since last weekend.
Meanwhile, a photographer AFP the scene saw dozens of Lebanese and Syrian families fleeing as the outskirts of Aita al-Shaab village became the target of heavy bombardment.
The Lebanese army in a statement said the outskirts of “Dhayra, Aita al-Shaab and other border areas were subjected to air and artillery bombardment by Israel.”
Lebanon urged citizens “to exercise caution” and avoid border areas.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army said it had “killed a number of armed suspects” who had infiltrated its country from the Lebanese border.
Tel Aviv said its helicopters had launched attacks on the area.
Islamic Jihad militants who collaborate with Hamas to fight Israel previously said that some of its members failed to infiltrate Israel from Lebanon.
“The Al-Quds Brigade claimed responsibility for the afternoon operation on Lebanon’s southern border,” the group said in a statement.
War is raging again in the Gaza Strip after Hamas and Israel launched attacks on each other.
Israel has pounded the Gaza Strip for the past three days after Hamas militants stormed towns in southern Israel in surprise attacks that killed hundreds of Palestinians in the territory.
The Israeli attack was in response to Hamas’ attack on Israel last Saturday. Hamas claims the aim of this attack is to end the final occupation of the earth.
Hamas militia fired thousands of rockets fired from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory. Some of its members even infiltrated Israel and fled to Gaza by kidnapping around 100 hostages.
So far, BNO News reported at least 900 people killed and another 2,616 people killed on the Israeli side.
Meanwhile, 703 people were killed and 3,818 others were injured on the Palestinian side both in the Gaza Strip and in the West Bank.
