Israel South Beirut, Lebanon was attacked again today. The Israeli military said it was targeting the group Hizbullahthe attack was a revenge attack after the Iranian-backed group admitted to destroying Israeli bases around the city of Haifa.
Reported by AFP, Sunday (17/11/2024), a column of smoke rose in the southern suburbs of the capital Beirut. AFPTV footage showed the plume of smoke visible, following an earlier warning by the Israeli military for civilians to evacuate the three areas.
The attack happened after the army Israel they reported a “heavy rocket attack” in Haifa on Saturday afternoon. As a result of the attack, a synagogue was hit and two civilians were injured.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military said that Hezbollah fired about 80 projectiles into Israel on Saturday.
3 Suspects arrested
Police in Israel said that three suspects were arrested after two flames landed near the residence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the city of Caesarea, south of Haifa. When the attack happened, Netanyahu was not at home.
The incident comes about a month after a drone targeted the same residence, Hezbollah said.
Israel’s military chief said Saturday that Hezbollah had “paid a heavy price,” but that Israel would continue to fight until thousands of residents fleeing the countryside returned safely.
