According to Israeli police in a statement, Qadri and Ardah were arrested after a resident of the town contacted the police and reported that they had approached him, asking for help and food.
The Security Police and Border Police, assisted by air units and sniffer dogs, investigated the area and both were found and detained within 45 minutes of the report being received.
A video circulating on social media, as quoted Israel Hayom, Saturday (11/9/2021), shows police handcuffing a man in the back seat of a police vehicle and asking his name.
The man calmly identified himself as Qadri and replied “yes” when asked if he was one of the escaped prisoners.
Qadri is serving two life sentences for attempted murder and planting a bomb.
The hunt for the remaining four fugitives from the maximum-security prison continues, with hundreds of Security Police officers, Shin Bet agents and Border Police forces combing northern Israel and the West Bank.
